This summer, we saw a rare thing: 20th Century Fox making good genre pictures. The home of Star Wars, the last couple years have seen the studio releasing junk like The Day the Earth Stood Still andWolverine. Films that were so worked over they satisfied few. This summer they made X-Men: First Class and Rise of the Planet of the Apes, both of which were good – and profitable. They seemed to have learned their lesson, as they’re bringing back Mathew Vaughn for another X-Men movie, according to Deadline.
