Intel officially releases its Ivy Bridge processors

Following months of anticipation, Intel has officially released its new Ivy Bridge processor line. The 22-nanometer 3D transistor chips replace Intel’s previous Sandy Bridge processors, and will likely make it into upcoming Mac model refreshes when the time comes. The Ivy Bridge processors will be available in 13 different quad-core i5 and i7 models for now, while more lower-end models will be released later this spring.
